Lightning Progress! - [5th May 2006]
Lee Gunn of Secret Orange shoots a striking photo which sums up one of the worst (or best) thunder and lightning storms Glasgow has ever seen.
The photo made the full front page of the Evening times, Daily Mail and BBC News Homepage. Lee managed to get a follow up story in the Evening Times the following day
and get the ever shameful pulg in for Secret Orange.
Lee states: "The shot took over an hour to capture. I knew if I pointed my camera at the university for long enough, I was bound to get a decent shot...but I never expected it to be this good!"
As lightning can be over in the flash of a second its important to stop down the lens, reducing the aperture which allows you to increase the amount of time the shutter is open for. Lee used
a shutter speed of around 15 seconds to increase the chances of capturing a great shot.
Solution Framework (Beta) - [March 2006]
Secret Orange has invested a lot of time, effort and money into developing a
Solution Framework which will be the foundations for much of it's
work in the coming years. The abstracted modular framework was primarily built for generic Content Management services but has since grown
to include e-commerce and newsletter services.
The framework will continue to grow with plans on introducing Internet Tracking, Blogging and Questionnaire building services just to name a few.
Modules are built in an abstract, highly configurable manner which allows Secret Orange to easily fine tune the services for customers
unique requirements. Secret Orange believes this investment will pay off as it means the customer can recieve higher quality solutions for minimal cost. Also,
without the need to re-invent the wheel for each project, Secret Orange can allocate more time to fine tuning the solution
and juicing as much out of todays technologies as possible.
