About Me

I’m an AI consultant helping teams design, build, and ship production-ready AI systems.

My work focuses on applied AI and machine learning, particularly where these technologies need to integrate cleanly into existing products, platforms, and organisations. I help companies move beyond experimentation and hype, turning AI into something reliable, measurable, and genuinely useful.

I bring over 20 years of professional software development experience, spanning APIs, cloud platforms, data systems, databases, system architecture, and performance-critical applications. While my current focus is firmly on AI and ML, that background matters. Modern AI systems do not live in isolation, they depend on solid engineering, good data, thoughtful architecture, and disciplined delivery.

Over the years, I’ve seen what happens when promising technology meets real-world constraints: scale, cost, security, latency, compliance, and maintenance. That perspective shapes how I approach AI. Models are only one part of the system. The surrounding infrastructure, data pipelines, evaluation, and operational practices are just as important.

Today, my work centres on:

  • Applied machine learning and modern AI systems
  • LLM-based solutions, embeddings, retrieval, and agents
  • Data pipelines and model evaluation
  • MLOps and production deployment
  • Performance, cost control, and operational robustness

I care deeply about professionalism in engineering. That means building systems that are understandable, testable, secure, and maintainable. It also means being honest about trade-offs, risks, and limitations. AI should augment people and organisations, not introduce hidden fragility.

I work best with teams who want to do AI properly: thoughtfully, pragmatically, and with an eye on long-term value. If that sounds like you, I’d be happy to talk.
